My Story

I am the immediate former Assistant Administrator for the Office of Women’s Business Ownership (OWBO), where I oversaw and administered broad, emerging, and critical Women’s Business Center (WBC) programs to achieve OWBO and the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) goals and objectives. As a seasoned leader with extensive experience in the private and public sectors working with executives, clients, and government officials to achieve positive outcomes, I successfully led this $70 million dollar federal grant-making program, including the largest expansion ever of the SBA's WBCs, to empower women to become entrepreneurs and to fulfill their greatest dreams.

My previous experience in the private sector spans work as an attorney and strategist with a background in communication and federal public policy, including implementation of the Affordable Care Act and regulatory matters before the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. In both roles, I have advised Fortune 100 companies, political candidates, and non-profits.

I also successfully started multiple companies and joined the U.S. Small Business Administration from a major international law firm in Texas. At the firm, I provided legal analysis on complex litigation cases as well as legal, economic and political commentary for multiple national and local media outlets.

Before entering the private sector, I served as Senior Advisor for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under two presidents; as the Health Care Counsel to the Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform; and as Chief Oversight Counsel to the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations for the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

I am a proud Military Spouse.  My husband Mike and I love being apart of the U.S. Marine Corps family.
